Not sure what to say?

Elbert was just so funny, all the time, even in his pain.

It was an honor to be a pall bearer for Elbert. I respected him. His funeral was awesome.

I am taking this time to thank you for the manner in which you conducted yourselves by honoring and respecting the wishes of Elbert even during the last minutes of his life and burial. I have lived here so many years and I have not seen a sample of what you did. I strongly believe that for everyone who behances like your family there are countless blessings awaiting them. Also, I must thank Elbert for welcoming and respecting me as a person. May God richly bless you.

Dear Ellen,

I have always been thankful for all both your Dad and Mother did for my parents during their years of declining health at Medford Leas. Unfortunately, I was not able to return in kind as distance curtailed personal hugs and visits.

Whenever we chatted by phone, Elbert and Curly (his name for my almost bald husband) enjoyed exchanging the latest jokes.

Your Dad was always helping others.

Dear Mrs DeBoeser,

I'm so sorry to learn of your dear father's passing. I knew El as a fellow volunteer at Recording for the Blind here in Princeton, and we had such a good time working together - he was a real character!
I cherish my happy memories of him, as I know you and your family do yours. His intelligence, wit, and style will linger long in my heart.

In deepest sympathy,
Victory Chase

Our deepest sympathies to the family during this time of deep grief. May you each take great comfort in knowing that Elbert has been reunited with his loved ones having gone on before him.

Dear Ellen,
I can personally empathize with your grief at this time ... we both had a loving, strong father-figure ....we miss them every day in some way. I can tell you this - the grief will lessen in time, and the fondest of memories will fill those holes, making you a stronger woman as time...

Dear Ellen and family,
So sorry for your loss. I'm sure he'll be missed by all.
Your Dad and I had many a good talk. He had so many stories to tell and was so interesting.
May all your memories sustain you in the coming days.
May God Bless You!!
Sincerely,
Pat and Bob Harden

TO our "Favorite Uncle". We will
miss your calls, your packages and
your jokes. You were a grandfather to our children, who never knew their own. We loved you much and will miss you always.

My Grampy was very dear to me. A father figure in my life. I always felt safe and at home either on the phone or in his presence. He made me laugh so hard and filled my head with great stories of him and my grandmother Mae Alice. I admired his style, his wit, charm, intelligence and dedication to his family. He is now in a better place sitting on clouds with my Grandmother looking down at us smiling and holding each others hands.
I could never put into word how much I'm going to miss my...
