May the lord bless your family and strengthen you in all ways. Know that you will meed Eldon again. Our fondens love and deepest respect to you always.

Karl and Rosalie Cook

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Dear Aunt Joy & Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Elden was a great man and, quite candidly, my favorite uncle! I have great memories coming over to your house as a child. I always have respected and loved Elden's gentle and kind nature and great sense of humor. My prayers and love are with you all. It was a beautiful funeral; you all did such a nice job--it was nice seeing many of you--I wish I'd had more time to stay and catch up with you all.

Dear Joy and Family,
We wish we could be there and express our sympathy in person. We are on Vacation in the Balitic Region and just left Oslo Norway. We wish we could be there to share in your sadness. We have a profound respect for Eldon, Mom taught with him for years and saw his dedication and hard work with the student and our ward. We appreciate what a good father he was to his wonderful family. Thanks to him and all of you for your love shown to our family through the years.

Mr. Hurst was my biology teacher at Olympus High. He was definitely one of my favorite teachers during my years at Oly. My deepest sympathy to the Hurst Family for their loss.

The "Spendloves" send their love and thoughts to the hurst family. When I was a Sumbeem and was shown pictures of "This it the prophet - President McKay" and "There are the apostles" - It was Borther Hurst that was pointed out as "This is the bishop" -- He will always be "the bishop" in my mind.
I imagine there is quite the "Hinckley" reunion going on right now with those that were adults when he was Bishop

Dear Aunt Joy & family, You are all in my prayers tonight. I just heard about Uncle Eldon's passing a few minutes ago. He was a wonderful man who touched my youth in a huge and special way. Your family is and always has been a great inspiration to me.
I love you very much. Ann Marie

All my children send their love.

I love my Grandpa!! I will miss him immensely!! It has been hard the last few years to watch him age. But I find comfort in the fact that he is finally free of the physical infirmities that age brings on. I know that if I live right and because of my Savior, Jesus Christ I will see my Grandpa again.
I also have a memory of him from my wedding. He was interviewed for my wedding video and he was listing my siblings in the order we were born. "First came, Davy Crockett and then Annie...

My favorite memory of my Grandpa was at my wedding lunch. Grandpa stood up to give a toast and he just let the jokes fly. No one knew he was going to do this. My favorite joke was, "If Jason (my husband) is alone in the forest is he still wrong?" It was the best part of the wedding lunch. I still hear comments on funny he was.
For a high school assignment I had to interview my Grandpa about World War II. I learned through this interview that my grandpa was really good at morse code....
