Not sure what to say?

I just received word this weekend (October 2016) that Coach Kellar had passed away April 16th, 2016!

He had a profound effect on me (and many others) with his work ethic, his openness and winning spirit.

We got him early as our head coach in Madison, SD and had some winning teams in football, basketball & track.

What a great man! You are missed Coach!

Mr. Kellar was my history teacher at Hilhi
(class of 1966). He scared me at first but then I realized what a wonderful man he was! One thing I remember from his class to this day was that Japanese families were unable to purchase their homes. That was such a revelation to me. I now realize he was ahead of his time when it came to injustices. He was a special man.

Coach Kellar has been one of the most influential men in my life. How I ever got the nerve to tell him that we ought to have two turkeys for the Hilhi turkey trot, one for the girl winner, and one for the boy winner, and he actually implemented that, I'll never know. He had a tough exterior, but was always genuinely concerned about the health of all the track and CC members, be it with injuries or other matters. A truly fantastic man and coach. May you rest in peace.
Melinda Brown...

Coach Kellar was my coach at Rainer before moving on to Hillsboro from 1955 to 1959.He took me aside more than a couple of times to encourage me.He made a big impact on me.

Mr. Kellar was my history teacher at Hilhi in 1962. He was a gentle giant. Once in class, he mistakenly asked me to stop talking to my neighbor. When I tried to explain that it wasn't me, he "cut me off." It really hurt my feelings because I always tried to be the perfect student in his class. Later at lunch he called me aside and apologized for wrongly accusing me. Most teachers wouldn't have made the effort to do that. He was such a kind person and will be missed.

A true gentleman and example to all. He helped me see my potential and noticed things others thought insignificant. Miss you coach!

What an honor to have known Elden and Dorothy Kellar, when I was Community Services Director for Cornell Estates. What a wonderful couple, so caring and loving to one another and everyone they encountered. Thanks to the family for the Elden P. Kellar scholarship fund which continues to support our local high school students go on to pursue their passion in college.
Blessings to the Kellar family and friends.

I remember Coach telling the team that he posted the workout. It was up to us to do the workout. He wasn't going to follow us around. Little did we know he was teaching about responsibility not technique. Miss you Coach.

Eldon was and still is a blessing to so many...we will miss a kind and great man.
