Not sure what to say?

There can only be one Elden C. Weckesser so I am responding to the notice in the Plain Dealer. My mother and father, Bobby and Allen Kerr were friends of Elden Weckesser. They passed away in 1988 and 1982, respectively, but I am sure that they would attend the memorial service to be held on Aug.3. I cannot attend to represent them because I am hosting my husband's family reunion at the same time. However, we send our prayers for the family.

To the Family of Dr. Weckesser:

I never had the privilege to meet Dr. Weckesser in person, but my father (Tom Murnick, also recently passed away at age 79) spoke of the doctor for years and years. Dr.Weckesser performed hand surgeries on my Dad long ago -
probably 30-35 years.
Dad's middle finger was cut off by
the blade of a snow blower. Dr. Weckesser attached the finger tip to the hand with skin grafts from
Dad's stomach - over the course of
surgeries...

Eldon waas the man who compelled me to become a hand surgeon and his smile and grace set standards few ever achieved for professional behavior. We honor his memory in our teaching and remember his books and contributions to medical science.
