Not sure what to say?

In the very early 1980´s Mr Rowan was my 7th grade Tennessee History and 9th grade World Geography teacher at Maryville Junior High School. Fast forward: I´ve lived in Europe for 20+ years now and sometimes I wonder if it´s partly because he had us memorize (!) the location of every country and capital city, and major mountain range - lake - and river on the entire globe in his class. But more than just facts and geography, he taught me and all of my classmates to broaden our understanding...

RIH MY DEAR FRIEND...MISS AND LOVE YOU❤

I was Mr. Rowan's history student in the 90s at Holston Middle. I was thinking of him today and how he used to tell us to not forget our history because it repeats itself. So sorry to hear of his passing. I want his family to know how many young lives he touched and what a wonderful impact he made. My husband also had him as a teacher two years before me and we share Mr. Rowan stories. So blessed to have had him.

Thoughts and Prayers for the Families

I was saddened and sorry to hear of the death of Elder Rowan. We taught together at Vine Middle School. He was one of my son's favorite teachers.

Elder Rowan and I grew up together in FBH Church. He was YPI President in Harriman and I was HYPU President at Mt Moriah. I contacted my first youth revival for him and youth at Marks Chapel in 1971.Lifetime friends, cousins and both loved attending Youth Congress and seeing church grow. Blessed to have blessed his ministry over the years. Take thy rest Elder. The battle has been fought and victory is won. Love Pastor Eddie Dickey and family
