Eldon Lee McClain

My condolences to the family. Eldon gave me my first hay hauling job as an 8th grader in school. He didn't think that I was big enough to handle lifting the bales on to the truck so he hired me to drive the truck at 1/2 cent per bale. I was happy to get that job. Then the next year I was big enough to handle bucking the bales at 1 cent per bale. Then over the next two years my pay rose to 2 cents per bale.....1000 bales in a day field to barn equaled $20. I always cherished the opportunity...

I am sorry to hear of Eldon passing. I work for Eldon hauling hay one summer. Was truly a man of his wording always had a new joke every day. Great to work for and treated us with fun times each evening. He will be missed and always remember!
