Eleanor Reed Alter

To the family of Eleanor Alter:
I, too, was one of many of her students who will never forget her (Class of '65). I often wondered where she was. I am so sorry she was so close - I would have enjoyed going to see her. She was one of my favorite teachers. She went with me to one of her student's funeral and she was so very kind and loving with the family. A truly remarkable woman that I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I graduated from KP High in 1965. As my English teacher, Mrs. Alter encouraged me to write. After all these years, I have finally taken her advice and am just finishing my second novel.
I feel her presence when I write and am grateful to have known such and kind and colorful person.

To the family of Mrs. Alter,

Mrs. Alter was a truly unique and gifted teacher. As one of her students in the class 0f 1964 at King Philip Regional HS, I found her to be warm, enthusiastic and caring. The example of dedication and caring she showed toward her students and all young people was exceptional. I am very sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Alter was my Creative Writing teacher back in 1981 at King Philip. She was patient, understanding and just great teacher...

In all the years which have so quickly passed by, she will always be one of the few teachers that I fondly remember from my school days at King Philip.

I am very sorry for your loss. My sister and I used to love to go with my father, Richard Boucher, to cut your Moms grass. She was a wonderful woman...may she rest in peace and our prayers are with you as you go through this very difficult time.

Both my sister and I had the pleasure of being in Mrs. Alter's English class. She taught me lessons that I carry with me today. I was always amazed by her jewelry collection especially the red beaded necklace that resembled freshly ground beef. Two years ago I aquired a similar necklace and refer to it as my "Mrs. Alter" necklace. Good, very good memories from this truly Graundam.

Dear Ernie,

What a wonderful person your dear mother was and what a long life lived with God! You are a great example of a most devoted son and edified all with your example. May your dear mother rest in the eternal peace and love of Christ, forever.

I will never forget Mrs. Alter. She was my english teacher in 1983. To this day, my friend Jill and I recall endless moments in her class that were truly unforgettable. If you never had her as your teacher, you really missed out on an incredible experience. She was a legend.

Mrs. Alter touched many lives, encouraging young minds through her steadfast beliefs and strong sense of self. Her memory is one I treasure, my classmates and I were blessed to have her influence. Our sympathies on your loss. With affection,
