Webster ... Eleanor M. (Riley) Cormier, 80, of 1 Golden Heights, died February 28, in the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Northbridge. Her husband, Lionel L. Cormier, died in 1983. She is survived by a son, Charles R. Cormier, of Webster; a daughter, Joyce A. Paquette, of Whitinsville; three stepsons, Henry and Joseph Cormier, of Worcester, and David Cormier, in Missouri; three stepdaughters, Alice Gentile, of Webster, Doris Brown and Yvette Besse, in Missouri; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two stepsons, Richard and Robert Cormier, predeceased her. Mrs. Cormier was born in Whitinsville, daughter of James and Elizabeth (Wheeler) Riley. She lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Webster in 1969. She was a clerk at Price Chopper, in Webster for ten years, retiring in 2001. She previously worked many years at the Ethan Allen Furniture Company in Dudley. She was a member of St. Louis Church, Webster, the Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Legion, Webster, and was a past president of the Oxford VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, and was especially appreciative of the excellent care she received while at Beaumont.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, March 3, in St. Louis Church, Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be private, in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling Hours will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, March 2, in the Carr Funeral Home (www.carrfuneralhome.com), 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activities Fund at Beaumont Rehab & Nursing Center, 85 Beaumont Drive, Northbridge, MA, 01534.
