Mrs. Dewitt, I could never call her just Eleanor (although we were 'friends' for years after 7th-8th grade!) was one of the most incredible teachers-ever PERIOD. I can spell almost anything without spell check (my kids cant!) I know how to properly use the English language and I know how to write and have the confidence to do so because of her. We stayed in touch through my high school years, she was at my wedding, she mailed little, thoughtful gifts and cards to my child nearly his entire...

I will miss Eleanor very much. She and I were buddies in high school. Her impishness and sense of fun brought me a long way out of my shyness. We had good times together. After having gone our separate ways to different colleges, we renewed acquaintance at the KHS 55th reunion. Ruth Behrens White (Natick, MA)

We are so sorry to hear Mrs. DeWitt passed away. She was a lovely lady and always made us laugh when she came to Juergen's for Ice Cream. We have fond memories of her and she will be missed.

Mrs. Dewitt was my 7th grade English Teacher. I've always had a special place for her in my heart because she believed in me when it felt as if no one else in the world did. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing and will always treasure her memory. I'm very blessed to have had her for a teacher!

This lady was one of the finest people I have ever known. I was fortunate to have her for a teacher in 5th, 7th and 8th grade. I was more fortunate to have her for my "adopted" mom. I love her and can't imagine this world without her. My only comfort is knowing she is in a better place. Hope she brought her "James and The Giant Peach" with her. Love you Ellie C.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...
