Eleanor M. (Lamonica) Medros, Dyer, of Lynn, age 90 years, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Union Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife Robert Dyer and the late George Medros, and daughter of the late Luigi and Philomena (Paoliana) Lamonica. Born and raised in Lynn, she has lived in Lynn all her life. A graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1936, she worked as a shoe worker in the local shoe industry . Eleanor enjoyed playing Beano at St. Mary's Church and the Knights of Columbus in Lynn. She also enjoyed knitting, bowling, crafts, video games, working crossword puzzles, playing cards, and cooking, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. Besides her husband Robert with whom on April 20th of this year, she would have shared fifty years of marriage, she is survived by her son Robert and his wife Barbara of Beverly; a daughter Nancy Sorensen and her husband Wayne of Lynn; grandchildren, Robert and Christine Medros, Tammy Medros, Denise and James Clarke, Gina Flaschner, Keith Medros, Gregg Medros, Kyle and Travis Sorensen; great grandchildren, Adam Clarke, Andrew and Natalie Medros; mother in law of MaryAnne Medros of Salem; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Bruce Medros, and the sister of the late Gilda Ostrowski and William Lamonica. Her funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn on Thursday at 8AM, followed by funeral mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 9AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to NSMC Foundation (Union Hospital) 81 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
