Not sure what to say?

Eleanor was a teacher who encouraged, rewarded and did whatever she could to help me as a cello student. When my family couldn't afford lessons, she traded lessons for staying with John when she had rehearsals. I don't think I ever paid what I owed her - in so many ways.

Eleanor was a really special friend. Even though I never studied cello with her, we had many cello talks during my visits to Springfield in the past years and she helped me with a recital I gave at Oakwood. She was always so positive and encouraging plus a wonderful lady! My condolences to you Nancy, Beverly, and John on the loss or this special person and your mother!

Mrs. Eleanor Foster was my private cello teacher from middle school through high school. She was not only a fantastic person, but an outstanding cellist and teacher. We corresponded throughout the years, and I will continue to cherish the fond memories. Nancy, Beverly, & Johnny, my condolences to you and family.

Mrs. Foster was my private cello teacher from middle school through high school. What a remarkable lady and instructor! We corresponded by mail throughout the years, and I will always have fond memories of her.
Nancy, Beverly, Johnny, I remember you too. My condolences to you and the rest of the family.

What a musical legacy you leave us! 48 years after my first lesson with you I still love to play the cello. I will always cherish my Bach Suites with your notes and bowings ("fingers up", "don't rush"). I think of you each time I play them. You didn't just teach me to play the cello, by emulating you, I became a musician! I will never forget you for that. My only complaint - you were too easy on me - I should have practiced more!

I can hear you now playing in Heavens' Cello Choir...

I had the pleasure of taking care of Miss Eleanor. She was a sweet and beautiful lady! My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
