Eleanor Hamilton

Eleanor (Duncil) Hamilton, 82, of Barrackville passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born in Farmington on January 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Albert Earl Duncil and Clara (Tennant) Duncil. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Ham" Eugene Hamilton, in March of 1999. A graduate of Farmington High School, class of 1955, Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She had also worked at various jobs including the Fairmont Clinic. Eleanor was a former member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son Michael Earl Hamilton, of Barrackville; her daughter Clara Jo Hoy, of Barrackville; her grandchildren Chriss Linn Hamilton and partner Keith Murphy, of Barrackville, Anna Thibodaux and her husband Cody, of Ohio, Dustin Hoy and his wife Sandy, of Ohio, Taunya Hamilton, of Barrackville, and Crystal Hamilton, of Barrackville; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Wilbert Ray Duncil, of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Molly Matilda Davis, of the Hopewell Community. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Delbert Duncil, Wesley Albert Duncil, and Raymond Duncil, and her sister, Marjorie Brown. Friends and Family will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Friday from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Claude Kinty officiating. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington.
