Not sure what to say?

Ellie was my dear advisor and mentor during my Theta years , in the 60's, at Syracuse....it was so nice having a loving "Mom", away from home. She was inspiring, witty ,caring , and proper and always had that twinkle in her eyes. My sincerest sympathies, and condolences. We all will miss her, dearly.
Very Sincerely,

I have dealt with a number of people in the Alumni office over the years. Ellie always stood out as one who was truly passionate about Syracuse University. She had a long run and will be sorely missed.
Dave Fletcher, '60

Ellie was a paradigm of goodness. Her genuine affection, care and devotion to those she called "friend" was unsurpassed. I met Ellie through Mike Sawyer who was always extolling Ellie's virtues as she did his. I can only hope those two have reconnected on a higher and better plane!

I have many fond memories of Ellie, especially her remarkable energy, her ever-present smile, wonderful personality and devotion to SU. What a wonderful, wonderful lady...

Ellie was the epitome of class and grace. I was lucky enough to know her as an undergrad at Theta (25+ years ago) and always admired her kindness, her wisdom and her generous (and funny!) spirit. Godspeed, Ellie..

She was full of warmth and enthusiasm....greeted everyone with her full atttention, a tender handshake/hold and twinkle in her eyes.

I will miss playing bridge with Ellie and miss her physical presence at Mass at St. Ann's. Her spiritual presence will always be there.

Oh dear! What sad, sad news. Ellie was the patron saint of our house (where she was born!). Our house positively sang when Ellie came to visit, and she would share fascinating history of our street and its architecture. She was always telling us she would provide us with the blueprints to our home on Stinard that she had in attic (when she found them). When we first met her, I believe she was 84 and she arrived in her little sports car, skirt above the knees and asked if we had any vodka...

Ellie was in the Alumni office when my father was in Development. She and my parents met often at University functions, along with Mike Sawyer, Newell Rossman and other University 'worthies.' They all worked and played well together, and represented the best of the University wherever they went, including the now-defunct University Club at lunch and the bar at the Pierre in New York City whenever possible. There never was a group like them, and the University is far poorer for their...
