Mrs. Eleanor Owens Martin, 92, of Fork, passed away peacefully following a period of declining health while at Carlyle Senior Care of Fork, with her family by her bedside during the afternoon of Friday, March 27, 2026.


Mrs. Martin was born in Marion County, South Carolina, on August 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert Monroe Harrelson and the late Fannie Zurcher Harrelson. She was a retired Textile Supervisor and a full-time mother and grandmother. She loved to cook; it brought her great joy fixing and trying new dishes and recipes and to be able to feed people filled her heart with joy. She loved her Lord and her Bible. She was a member of North Mullins Baptist Church.


Mrs. Martin is survived by her three daughters: Gloria Shelley of Marion, Diane Treadway of Marion, and Martha Hyatt of Floydale; her grandchildren: Tony (Dawn) Shelley, L.P. Hyatt, Brandy (Chris) Allen, Tammy Hammond, Ashley Shelley, Shannon Hayes, Larry (April) Treadway, Jeffery (April) Bullard, and Robert Shane Bullard; 15 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a sister, Gayle Sawyer of Mullins; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her children’s father, Louis Bullard, her second husband, Jack Owens, her third husband, Clifton Martin; two brothers, Harvey Harrelson and Robert Harrelson, a son, Robert (Vicky) Bullard, her sons-in-law, Jimmy Shelley and Dank Hyatt, and a great grandson, Kyle Ammon Hyatt.


Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.


A graveside service for Mrs. Martin will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, March 30, in Riverside Cemetery of Nichols, with the Reverend Art Ramsey officiating and services directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
