Not sure what to say?

We never knew Eleanor - but we met 3 of her children and got to know one in particular - our neighbor Kathy. After meeting her - we wish we would have met Eleanor - she leaves an incredible legacy behind - and her generosity and love for people certainly lives on in her children.

Belated wishes to Aunt Eleanor

I am Collene Thompson and often through the years my path crossed with Eleanor. I was also a member of St. Bernard's Parish and my mother in-law went to school with Eleanor at St. Francis in Council Bluffs. My dear friend Annie Howard and Eleanor spent alot of time together at New Cassel, in fact a few years ago at this time we had a birthday party for Annie and Eleanor helped us celebrate. Now they are celebrating in another way.
May God Bless you all through this and may he give you all...

Nonnie and Dave, I was so sorry to read of your mother's passing. She must have been a wonderful woman, judging from the comments here. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the McCandless Family at the time of their loss.

Dear Nonnie and "all the Kids"

Even before I became engaged to your cousin Bob, Eleanor made me right at home with your lively family. I remember how much she enjoyed your antics -- correcting John (and Cathy) -- and turning to us with a grin. Later when Bob was in VietNam, Eleanor made sure that one-year old Rob and I were fed and welcome for holidays. It was my privilege to get to know you all
better, including Ernie and Eileen, during that year. I will always remember...

I wish I could be there, Aunt Eleanor was such a strong and sweet person. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Nonnie, and family, I am truely sorry to have to miss Mom's funeral. We are coming to Omaha on Friday and I was going to see Mom on Saturday. It saddens me to think I missed that chance but I know that she is happy in Heaven. I'm sure they are all watching over you and your families and will shower you with gifts of strength and love to care on. It's a hard time, I know, but always remember the wonderful times you had and as I do, I talk to the ones I miss when I'm down.
Love to all,...

Our prayers are with Eleanor's family at this time. I am a classmate of David Frenzer from high school, and my brother is Fr. Tom Smith, C.S.C., the Director of the Holy Cross Foreign Missions at Notre Dame where I am now volunteering in my retirement. Fr. Tom always spoke very highly of Eleanor, and we are all confident that she is now with Our Lord in Heaven.
