Eleanor Catharine McConnell

My deepest sympathies to Eleanor's family. I had the opportunity to work with Eleanor at the Record-Courier for a number of years and for a couple of years we occupied neighboring desks. I remember her as dedicated and gracious. She seemed to really love the communities she covered, and the people she wrote about. It was a great pleasure knowing her.

I am a decendant of the Eckhardt family (my grandfather was Carl Eckhart) and as a child I attended the Eckhart reunion on the McConnell Farm many times. I remember your father well and 4 years ago met with your mother in Steubenville, along with Bruce and Doreen Dimick, and members of the Engel family. We had a lovely visit and your Mother was a joy to talk with. I have a picture of all of us sitting on my credenza. It was wonderful to see everyone...
