Eleanor was a beautiful, funny, and intelligent woman who always made me laugh! And always with the nails done and lipstick on! She was a joy to have in therapy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family. Eleanor is surely missed.

To all of my Shackleford cousins...
Yesterday was a perfect tribute to our dear Aunt Eleanor. From the hymns you chose to the eulogy Bridget gave and the priest's homily to the wonderful slide show, even a stranger would feel that they knew Aunt El. But, if she was still with us, Aunt Eleanor would've made strangers feel like family - that was part of her charm. She had such a big personality for such a petite and classy woman. And, she had so much love and laughter in her heart that it couldn't help but spill out to everyone she touched. She'll be missed by so many, but I can't imagine the hole she's left in your life. My prayers for all of you!

Dear Ellie: I'm sure going to miss you. I have been so blessed to have you as a friend. Your kindess in opening your heart and home to me, and sharing me with your sons and daugthers, and being my second mom here in Philly; you all are like a second family to me. I am most glad that I met you: you have enriched my life very much. I shall miss our talks..but I look forward to seeing you again. And I know you'll be there with Scotty at your side.

Years ago I was your mother's periodontist. She always came into the office with a bright smile, high spirits and dressed to the nines. I was sad to read of her passing. I am confident her infectious optimism and zest for life will live on in your families. She was a great woman and will be missed. I know her million dollar smile is brightening heaven!

Our condolences to Diane, Katie, Michael and David and your families. It's hard to imagine this earth without your Mom. I'm sure Aunt Eleanor has taken her class and elegance, her feisty personality, and her charm and humor along with her to heaven, where she's entertaining the angels.
