My dearest mother. Today is the anniversary of your leaving this world for a much better life, and a reuniting with dad in heaven. I love you so very much, and miss you both immensely. I thank God for His blessings of having you as my parents, and know that With God's help and protection and guidance, all things will be for the good in the days and steps ahead. Plato is known for the statement "Let parents bequeath to their children not riches, but the spirit of reverence." I have such...

Hello Mom and Dad. Today was a federal holiday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin had such a special role as I was growing up with you both. From his activities in Birmingham, Washington, DC, and the nation...to his tragic assassination, when you met me, Dad, at the university where I had attended a Shakespearian play. The news had not been announced during the play. The shock and concern were so very deep.

Lots of snow and artic cold in Indianapolis today. So much is...

Dear Mom and Dad. Happy New Year! Happy 2019! I know that you are in God's warm and eternal embrace, but this is a time of reflection and looking ahead. Janice and I watched some football, went to a movie, and prepared for the new year, with much to do. I love you both so much, and sometimes think what I would say to you on occasions like this. You are wonderful in the past, now, and always. Your loving son, Jim. Submitted on New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 @ 11:57 pm ET.

Merry Christmas 2018, my dearest Mother and Father. So many things to be thankful for, beginning with you as my parents. Janice and I had a wonderful visit with Jan and Stan on Christmas Eve. Jan has done it again, and saved and adopted two wonderful puppies -- Missy and Caesar. Just adorable, both, with Caesar being everyone's newest best friend, and Missy taking time to ensure no one will harm her, and then becoming this loving little sweetheart.

We also enjoyed and re-enjoyed...

Hello Mom and Dad. Flying from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Minneapolis, MN then to Indianapolis, IN. A productive working meeting in Sioux Falls. I enjoy the city and the experience.

Much on my mind. I do think of you both while there and in so many places. Sioux Falls is a location from which I surely would call you. And send you photographs. You both created and cultivated the good that is within me. I have tried to build on that foundation. I need God's help especially so now....

A traditional brief trip that scheduled in conjunction with a festival in conjunction with the passing of actor James Dean, who passed away this day in 1955.
