Elena Leonardo

Elena “Ellen” Leonardo was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering love. She passed away suddenly on February 14, 2025.

Born on August 8, 1945, in Lingayen, Pangasinan, to Ramon and Francisca Vinluan, Ellen pursued her education at Adamson University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. After graduating, she moved to Quezon City, where she stayed with a cousin and met the love of her life, Arturo Leonardo. Together, they built a beautiful family and raised five children.

She is lovingly remembered by her children—Ramonito, Rapunzel, Patrick, Katrina, and Arthur John—along with her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and twelve grandchildren, with one more on the way. She had been eagerly looking forward to visiting the Philippines in December to welcome the newest addition to the family.

Ellen found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. She loved cooking and preparing meals for her children and grandchildren, always ensuring they were well-fed with her delicious dishes. Her passion for caring extended to her indoor plants, which she tended to with dedication and love. Mornings often began with video calls to her daughter and granddaughter, and despite the miles, she never failed to check in on her sons and grandchildren in the Philippines, keeping them close through frequent conversations.

She also had a deep love for traveling and took pride in collecting magnets from every place she visited. She meticulously recorded each destination and date, cherishing the memories of her adventures across the United States.

A funeral viewing will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20715.

Ellen’s love, warmth, and caring spirit will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
