Not sure what to say?

You will always be remembered, Mr. Wells.

Captain Elgin was truly a CLASS ACT! He set the example that all could aspire to.
Bob Teasley

It is a loss that is still a shock when it invades the thoughts as it does often. Denial? Yes, but he was of the "Right Stuff" that we thought we could have forever...

I was proud and flattered when he would sometimes refer to me as his "other son!" No one could have had a better "other Dad." And the thing was, the longer you were around him, the more insight you were granted into his intellect, experience, character, and pure grace.

Yes, indeed, Elgin, he was and still remains...

Elgin,Jr. ...I know your dad was your soul and inspiration. May your wonderful memories comfort you and your family...knowing full well that he has flown past the surly bonds, and touched the face of God.

Flying with Elgin early in one's career should have been mandatory! He was a true professional and the essence of what Delta Airlines represented in those days.

To the family of Capt. Wells,
We extend our deepest regrets and our most sincere sympathy. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
The Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum

My sincere condolences to the Wells family. We have lost one of Delta's great pilots.

What an amazing, interesting and full life Mr. Elgin Wells enjoyed. I was fortunate to have met him a few years ago @ PDK, and again during some annual get-togethers. He was a charming man with such bright eyes...and quite the captivating storyteller.
Your skies are indeed now yours, Mr. Elgin. Bless you & your family.

I will miss "Elgin, Sr's" smile and the sparkle in his eyes. What an incredible man. How fortunate we are to have known him. Our prayers are with the family. Love, Heidi and Skylar Smisson
