sorry about your loss.

learned about Elias Abu-Saba 2 days ago from News & Record. I saved the article because I saw the words "poem" and "death".

I have two of his poems in my kitchen where I can see and read them as needed. I know, only 2 days, but what a source of strength. It is like he wrote them for me. I wonder what more is there? Is there a book of poems? I want to buy one if there is. I love his soulful simplicity, about life.

Peace...

Hi Taunt Mary. It is Amira Abu-Saba - Nabil Abu-Sabas youngest daughter. I was looking up for Ami Elias, alla yourhamo, on the internet and i came across this and so i decided to write something. I hope you are ok and that Aunty Leilia and Amou Khalil are also good. Dad and Mom say hi, and they ask if you can say hi to all there. I hope that you are ok and i hope that you would read this message soon. I found the old books that Ami Elias would write for us, and also the Poem book he made, in...

I just learned of the passing of Elias tonight. I am very grateful to have known him and wish I could have spent more time with him, such a dear man, powerful poet, and humanitarian. What a gift that such a man could live among us. My love goes out to him and his family, especially my dear friend Mary.

I found out only today of Elias' passing. Jane and I have always admired his wisdom, intellect, and his devotion to his students. During my tenure as Dean of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University, I depended on Elias's advice and judgment. May his soul rest in peace. Mary Edith and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Abu-Saba's death. He was one of my best professors during my years at NCA&TSU. He was thorough in his teaching and the knowledge he possessed. He had a special gift for challenging us to be our best and helping us to understand the most complex subjects. He had a special way of pushing us beyond being average with poetic finesse. I will always cherish the poems he shared with us. He will be greatly missed.

We are blessed to have known such a...

I graduated in 1977 from NCA&T. I had Dr Abu Saba as a professor for all of my structural design classes. I was sadden to hear that he had died. He was a great teacher and a good friend. I remember taking a summer school class and it was just he and I. My prayers are with you. He will truly be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I have very fond memories of Elias, as I know many people in Greensboro and around the world do. Best wishes to his family, esp. Khalil and Layla who I also fondly remember
And of course to Mary.
