Being shocked by the unexpected and unbelievable departure for your last voyage, here we stand in the port of Mytilene (Lesvos, Greece), the place where you started your wanderings following your dreams, just to say the last goodbye to you Helias Katsaros, our beloved relative; a man with a kind soul, an excellent sailor both in life and at sea.
Hardly making out the steam from the smokestack drifting away until the Aegean horizon of our sorrow, memories of our few but meaningful common moments, come up. We are full of feelings of love, respect, pride, admiration and gratitude towards the son of an outspoken, industrious and honest father, a beautiful and elegant mother and the brother of a unique artist and writer, Pelagia, with a heart full of love and affection to all unprotected creatures.
Farewell, Helias, we are convinced that your voyage will be good, besides you are a captain!

It is difficult for me to express in English my feelings for Elias, such a kind person and such an excellent shipping professional at the same time. I had the privilege to know him well when I was hosted for a month at his home, 15 years ago and became a good friend of this real gentleman. The world, especially the shipping world, seems now poor to me without your presence dear Elias.
