Condolences to his family and close friends. He was a mentor to me when I was an exchange student to Cairo in 1981. He was a kind and intelligent professor and friend. I remember him fondly as I strive to mentor students as he once did for me. He enriched my life, and for that I am thankful. He made the world a better place, and for that we should all be thankful.
