Eli was a wonder. His contribution to the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival (SOAPIFF) were immense and helped to make it unique. What an amazing talent he was. He will not be forgotten. Mark Compton

Eli was a dear, sweet friend. We became friends instantly the day we met, years ago at Lamplighters Music Theatre in California -- he touched my soul with his warmth and humor and his unique way of moving through the world. I think a lot of people shared that experience of him. I am sending my love and condolences to his family and friends. We who loved him will never forget him.

Eli was such a wonderful human being. He was funny and just fun to be around. I'm so sorry for his family.

I so remember Eli from his Instagram postings which were always interesting and fascinating. He showed an in depth knowledge of film and recordings both old and new. His humor and the show of love for so many people was evident in the pics he chose and the words he used to describe those pics. He was so proud of his various collections of films, records, playbills, and librettos as new items arrived from CA. One should be sure all his possessions from CA have arrived.
