Elijah Walid Nasr, born October 3, 1984, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on December 6, 2024, in Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Elijah was the cherished son of Eleanor Irene VanBuskirk, Wally Nasr and stepmom Vivienne Nasr. He was a devoted father to his beloved son, Luca Nasr, and a treasured sibling to Chasilee Crawford and Josiah VanBuskirk. Elijah’s life was further enriched by the love of his grandparents and the deep bonds he shared with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Raised between Glenpool, Oklahoma, and St. Louis, Missouri, Elijah grew into a hardworking craftsman whose hands shaped homes and structures with care and precision. His career in construction spanned residential and commercial projects as well as specialized work in elevator operations and ironworking. Through his dedication to his craft, Elijah built more than just physical spaces—he created a legacy of resilience and determination that inspired those around him.
A proud member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Elijah embraced his Native heritage with profound reverence. His Indian name, Yvhv Opunkvk Vpvketv—“Talks with Wolves”—reflected his deep connection to nature and an intuitive understanding of the world’s living beings. This bond was especially evident in his relationship with his dogs Mekko and Locv, loyal companions who brought him immense joy and solace throughout his life.
Elijah found beauty in life’s simplest moments: exploring new destinations with curiosity and wonder; strumming heartfelt melodies on his guitar; and cherishing time spent with Luca—the light of his life. His vibrant spirit resonated deeply with all who knew him, leaving behind an enduring impression of warmth, strength, and compassion.
A funeral service will be held at Traditions Funeral Home in Kellyville, Oklahoma. Following the service, Elijah will be laid to rest at Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Oklahoma.
May those who were touched by Elijah’s presence carry forward the love he so freely gave and find comfort in the lasting legacy of a remarkable man whose memory will forever inspire kindness and grace.
Services will be 1pm, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville with burial to follow at Bixby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-737.

Eli and I played together with the Wollongong Mustangs. We were in the middle as the LBs. We laughed and talked so much trash hanging over the middle of the field! He welcomed me to the team when I first rocked up and made it very easy and comfortable for a new player to the club. Such a great human and fierce competitor. You are missed dude.

Growing up with Elijah and his cousins, I became 'one if the boys'. He always had a great smile. I can picture us now under the age of 11 hanging out in his neighborhood, Kendalwood in Lil old Glenpool, Oklahoma. Not so little now. My prayers to the family who my family was very good friends with.
