Not sure what to say?

Still a pang to read she is gone from this world she loved so much and added so much to during her long life. A pleasure to have been a small part of her life at GHS. She always made me smile.

Oh, Elinor, the world is a sadder place without you. The last time I saw Elinor was at my Dad's funeral at St. Paul's. My brother Richard's daughter Ashlee played the harp during the ceremony, something he loved dearly. After the ceremony, Elinor made her way to our car and pressed a pin, an Irish harp pin, one she had chosen to wear that very day, in my hand. In typical Elinor style, she bestowed a huge hug and a kiss on me and said to give it to Ashlee. Elinor was touched by the music,...

One of the kindest ladies and she truly was a lady and a friend to my boys always with. Fond and loving memories of her and her darling niece Diedre who I still adore. My prayers for her and her family.

Elinor was a classy lady. She personified all that is admirable in the feminine sex. She was a role model for her students and colleagues. A great educator and person. It was an honor to know her and work with her.

Sweet, warm, witty Elinor, I have many lovely memories. Fried chicken luncheon she made for my boys and I, working with her the last year she taught and watching her charm her students, seeing all the students who came back to seek her out after graduating, her passion for greek myths, her joy and tenacity in the classroom, her ability to take each child where they were and move and motivate them to be their best.

That was 23 years ago, Elinor is with me every day. She was my...

ELINOR AND I SHARED A LOVE OF THE LINE IN "MEMBER OF THE WEDDING" WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER SPEAKS OF HAVING NO INTEREST IN "ALL THE LITTLE LEFT-OVER PEOPLE." IT ALWAYS MADE US LAUGH. OUR DARLING MISS ELLIE WAS NEVER A "LITTLE LEFT-OVER PERSON." SHE WAS ALWAYS THE MAIN ATTRACTION! I LOVED HER VERY MUCH.

One of the pleasures of my teaching time at Greenwich was seeing Elinor's beautiful, smiling face, and hearing her wry and wise comments on whatever topic was on the table. Her shaping of Shapers is part of her legacy for the Greenwich High School students and teachers who participated in it.
I loved seeing her again more recently at our annual retirement gatherings, and will miss knowing she is still in our world. She certainly left it a better place for her efforts, with her constant...

What wonderful memories I have of a lovely lady, dear friend at GHS. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
