Eliott J. Bisson

Rollinsford – Eliott J. Bisson, 93, formerly of 428 Washington St. died Sunday November 30, 2003 at Dover Rehabilitation & Living Center after a period of failing health.

Born in Eliot, Maine on June 20, 1910 the son of Amedee and Georgianna (Gagne) Bisson. He was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings: Emelia, Clara, Mary, Margaret, Lucien, Edmond, Robert, Albert, Paul and Wilfred.

In 1939 he married Margaret Labrecque. They were married for 46 years and were blessed with two children, Elaine and Gary. His wife Margaret died in 1986 and his son Gary died in 1993.

For more than 55 years, “Bis” as he was affectionately called by most of his friends and customers, operated Bisson’s Barber Shop on Main St. in South Berwick, ME.

Eliott served our country in the U. S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. Upon his return he was very active in the American Legion Post #47 of Rollinsford, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Disabled American Veterans Post both of So. Berwick

Bis spent his entire life in the Rollinsford-South Berwick area and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Bill Meagher of Acton, MA; two granddaughters Janet P. of Acton, MA and Michelle A. of Merrimack, NH; his daughter-in-law Beverly of Davenport Florida and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St. So. Berwick, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 3rd at St. Mary Church, Church St., Rollinsford with Rev. Tom Coover, pastor as celebrant. Internment will follow in the family lot in New Town Cemetery, Rollinsford.

Dear Elaine and Bill,
Our deepest sympathies are with you at this sad time. I have a few childhood memories of Uncle Eliott and they are all happy. He reminded alot of my beloved grandfather, Edmund. Let his memories comfort you and his love will always be with you.

My condolences to Elliot's family. I am a LNA at Dover Rehab and had the honor and privilege to take care of this wonderful and funny man. He brightened all of our days with his smile and quick wit. He will be missed so much. God Bless you all.
