Tomás and I were so saddened to learn of Dra. Cambria´s passing. Of all the teachers I had, Dra. Cambria was the one who had the greatest influence on me. If it hadn´t been for her encouragement, I wouldn´t have gone to Madrid in the summer of 1977 to study Spanish in a "summer abroad" program. Elisa was a loyal friend, a great, dignified and polite lady-- a true Spanish dama.She was a great teacher :devoted and passionate, to her students, teaching and the language and so helpful to her colleagues and to her proud friends as we progressed in our careers and worked and enjoyed friendship with her in and outside the classrooom .
