Not sure what to say?

Dear Sandra, Trey, Thomas and Gregory. I am heartbroken. While I never had the fortune to know your beautiful daughter, sister and wife except as a young child, I know she was a special human being having followed her courageous journey with admiration and awe. She and you all have been and will continue to be in my prayers. With much love.

We read with heartbreak the obituary of Eliza's passing. We share in your grief. Our son died of appendiceal cancer Dec 21,2017 after a 15 month battle; he was 47. He and Eliza are so much alike: tennis players, deeply faithful Christians, determined fighters. He underwent surgery to confirm he could receive the heated chemo treatment in Pittsburgh but cancer was too far spread and it was cancelled. We will pray for the family. His Facebook page is: https://www.facebook.com/KITTSTRONG.

While I never met Eliza in person, I could tell that she had an indomitable, giving spirit during the three years of her illness as I handled her leaves of absence. We frequently bonded over Statesboro, and she was a joy to have conversations with.

She may be gone, but her legacy will live on forever.
