Elizabeth "Betty" G. Mahon

Boscawen, NH - Elizabeth "Betty" G. Mahon, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024 with family by her side.

She was born in Salem, MA daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Tansey) Gannon. She was predeceased by her brother John Gannon. Betty is also predeceased by her husband of 35 years, William "Bill" Mahon.

Betty was a graduate of Concord High School and Westbrook Junior College. After graduating from college, Betty returned to Concord and began her career at New England Telephone. Betty loved her job as an Executive Assistant. She worked for many years before her children were born, then returned to her same job after they were school aged.

Betty was a woman of great faith and devoted to her family. She went to many dance recitals, softball games and school events. She loved being a grandmother and attending her grandson's plays, sporting and scouting events. Betty was a die-hard Red Sox fan, an avid reader and enjoyed bowling. She was a longtime volunteer at the Capitol Center of the Arts. She participated in cardiac rehab and a senior citizen dance group with her husband Bill prior to his passing.

Most of all Betty cherished her summers at Tucker Pond with friends and family. Bill introduced her to Tucker Pond and it became a place of many happy memories for the entire family. Betty enjoyed floating in the pond with a noodle and her sun hat. You could find her at the end of the day on the porch, playing cards and having a glass of wine.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Sheila Mahon and her wife Ellen Moran of Hancock,NH Nancy Mahon DeCoster and her husband Dwight DeCoster of Underhill, VT, and Patricia "Trish" Mahon of Concord, NH; 2 grandsons, Christian DeCoster of Cambridge, MA, and Kyle DeCoster of Arlington, VA; many nieces and nephews; and her Tucker Pond family and friends.

A memorial visiting hour will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 9:45 to 10:45 at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May, 2 at 11 AM at Christ the King Parish 72 South Main Street, Concord.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Concord.

Aunt Betty and Uncle Billy always treated me like one of their own. I´m sad she´s gone but she´s with Billy again and that makes me happy. My condolences to Sheila, Nancy, and Trish.
