Angelus Funeral Home - San Antonio Obituary

Elizabeth Deananne Alfaro entered into rest on June 7th, 2025.  Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband and caregiver Charles Alfaro; her sweet doggies Connor and Sassy; her mother Bette Jacob; her brother Frank Jacob (Patty); her daughters Myzsa Grandell (Chad), Julie Alfaro, Samantha Alfaro-Smith (Stephen); brothers-in-law Albert Alfaro (Lucy) and Michael Alfaro (Tere) as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded by her in-laws Jesse and Isabel Alfaro and sister-in-law Betsy Alfaro.

Elizabeth grew up in Fredericksburg, TX before moving to San Antonio.  After several years in health care administration, Elizabeth made a change to car sales where she was recognized in 2007 by San Antonio Woman Magazine as one of the top women in the industry.  After car sales Elizabeth left San Antonio for three years before returning and establishing herself as the Office Manager at Rolling Oaks Mall.  A position she would hold for 13 years.

It was in the car business at Saturn of San Antonio where she would meet the love of her life Charlie.  After she returned to San Antonio, they would begin a life together sharing 10 blessed years of marriage filled with love; baseball and travel (Mazatlán, Alaska, New Orleans, New York City, Colorado, South America and Antarctica).  Their final journey took them to Radio City Music Hall where she met her idol, Hugh Jackman.  She took special joy in penguins, her dachshunds, family gatherings, and sewing.  She was very active in her church, St. Luke’s Episcopal, where she served in various guilds and ministries.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her faithful devotion to God and her family, her loving generosity and thoughtfulness, her indomitable spirit, and her beautiful smile that brightened every room she entered.  She bore her illness with courage and confidence in God’s plan for her life. Elizabeth’s wish is that we love each other Now, in every moment, for tomorrow is not promised.  Take care of those who have needs you can fill, especially those with food insecurities.

In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth asked that donations be made to Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or San Antonio Food Bank.

The family would like to thank the numerous friends who continued to lift Elizabeth in prayer during her illness as well as all of the medical professionals who cared for her, especially Dr. Michelle Muldrow.

Not sure what to say?

Charlie, Elizabeth was a shining light in all of our lives. She brought joy and laughter with her, whenever we met. We have lots of memories of Elizabeth to hold onto. Hang on tight to those, as you make your way through this next stage of your life without her. Prayers for you & those you love.

I worked at the mall where she and Charlie worked Charlie gave me my first job but when Elizabeth came in to his life you would think that he was back in high school again she brought a light into his life that at the time I feel that only baseball and his daughter's could bring she will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth was and I'm sure will continue to be one of pure heart and happiness that she spread with out her even knowing. See was an absolute pleasure to work with at Saturn. She was always the one person who could turn your day around with just her smile.
My deepest condolences to the Family.
Charlie, you were very fortunate to have her come to your life.
"I Say, I Say, Elizabeth!" This saying is how we would send off our Saturn customer with. You will be geatly...
