After 84 years, 9 months and 27 days on this Earth, Libby was tired and ready to go home. 


Elizabeth Ann (nee Ketchem) Brant, “Libby” died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1939, in Odon, Indiana to the late Everett and Phyllis (nee Williams) Ketchem. On June 6, 1959, she married Donald Brant. Along with Donald and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Evelyn) Ketchem, Curtiss (Delphine) Ketchem; and sister, Janet Roberts.  She was the last of her siblings to leave; what a wonderful reunion it will be. 


She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Rocky) Martin; sons, David (Lisa) Brant, Donald Brant; grandchildren, Joseph (Tina) Brant, Jason Brant, Jessica (Jeremy) Hopkins, Stephanie Masson, Samantha Brant, Nicholas and John Brant, Autumn (Keith) Bradney, Cody (Melissa) Martin; great grandchildren, Rory, Tobias, and Samuel Bradney, Monroe and Ryker Martin, Kaelie, Emily, Austin, Brent, and Lucy Brant, Aiden, Alexis, Conner, Aubrey and Brooklyn Hopkins, Marissa and Kaitlyn Pariss; great great grandson, Bodhi Brant; and sister-in-law, Peggy Brant. 


The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Life Care Center in Valparaiso for the compassionate care they provided for their mother. 


A funeral service for Libby will take place Monday, October 7, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109. My deepest condolences to Libby's family. I sat next to Libby at the Call Center for awhile. She was always kind and considerate. We had lots of laughs, too. It was a pleasure to know her. May she rest in peace.
