Not sure what to say?

I will always remember Lisa's kindness and concern to everyone and will keep the happy picture of her in my mind from last October at her daughter, Alice's, wedding. My heart goes out to the entire family for their loss.

To all who were lucky enough to know her, our lives were all a bit lighter, touched by kindness, grace and humility. Simply put, you will be missed. Much love to the Burden family, Henry, Liz, Alice and Hath, you are all so wonderful people--I wish you strength in the months and years to come.

I am thinking of Lisa's family during this time. She was such a kind, smart person with an amazing wit and she will be greatly missed by her class of 1986 at Westover. I am so glad that I was there for the reunion some years ago when Lisa and Hathaway came for dinner. I always imagined her life idyllic in Friday's Harbor and clearly her family was so dear to her. Thinking of you all. Patsy Simonds Taylor

We were shocked and deeply saddend to hear of Lisa's sudden passing. She was a dear cousin and will be deeply missed by the entire family. Although we had not seen each other for years, we were so happy to have been able to spend some time with her a few years ago when visiting her brother Cuz David. We wish all the best to the family and we have you in our thoughts and prayers. May you find some peace in your time of sorrow. Bill and Kimie Ranken

Elizabeth spoke of the 'unexpected turn in the road' that she was having to navigate. She's made that corner now and we can't see her any longer, but we will continue to feel her presence (all be it so petite...), her smile that lit up a room, and her energy and zest for life. Life is for living, especially when it's shorter than expected.

Best wishes to her family at this time of the unexpected turn. From another Westover classmante.

Lisa was a remarkable person and although I only saw her occasionally after Westover I will miss her compassion and caring a great deal. She was my first year room-mate at Westover (and my second cousin) and she was always so attuned to others and their needs. I will never forget some of the fun times we had a Westover, but more recently I will cherish a long walk/talk we had few years ago about life, love and growing older. She was a wonderful listener and thoughtful commenter.
...

I only knew Lisa for a short period of time but she left an impact on my life. Always friendly and supportive and a kind word for all. She is in a beautiful place watching over her beautiful family. My prayers and positive thoughts are being sent being sent to her family and especially to Hath. Love to all. Marianne Howard & family

McKuen's verse next to Lisa's beautiful yearbook picture seems poignant:

Sitting on the hill today
I watched the fog
making its way past rooftops
and down along the trees
till it was by my side
and all about me.

Joining all her Westover classmates; our hearts go out to her family with sympathy and deep appreciation for her life.

We will miss Lisa and her wonderful smile and thoughtfulness. She was an important part of the Westover class of '68. Not only did she raise our class average by points, but her caring and interest in everyone was a great example for all. Cherish your years with her. Clinton Standart
