THANKS AGAIN; VALERIE L SISTRUNK (TUBBY`S SECOND OLDEST CHILD)

To "Tubby's" dear family,
It was a pleasure to meet cousin Tubby at the big family reunion in 1989. She was a very sweet and joyful person and one of my grandmother Kate's dearest friends. My sincere condolences to all of her loved ones.

To Tubby's Family, deepest symthpathy to you loss, and our loss. She was a dear lady. With love, Frankie Frye

I recall a time, I must have been about five years old, much of the family lived on John Street it was a warm summer day and all the kids were playing in the Alley Aunt Tubby found an old bathtub somewhere and pulled it out into the yard filled it with warm water and laughed with delight as child after child piled in. I used to think that’s how she got her name, Tubby. Funny the things we remember about a person, an old tub on a warm summers day, and a smile I can see even now. I will miss...

One of my fondest memories of Tubby is,when at fourteen , visiting Grandma Frye while Tubby was getting ready for a heavy date. She asked me to zip up the back of a beautiful black dress and hook her necklace because she was in hurry. With her hair in curlers and her make up area in chaos, she was like a whirlwind . Soon out of that chaos burst this beautiful woman; dressed as if for a fashion show. Grandma Frye beamed with affection and I had my first lesson on how a woman can bring order...

TAC, I am sorry to hear of your Mom's death. Your mom was a wonderful and friendly woman. I will keep you all in my prayers. May God give you and your family comfort and peace.

to tubby's family..
Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. We loved gram so much. SHe welcomed us in her home and heart from day one. We are so blessed to have you all in our lives. Gram was an amazing lady-- but I don't have to tell you,you all know that already!
We will miss her, but she is celebrating up above. God has a new angel watching us all!
we love you.........

What fun we had during that week we spent together on the Cape and how lucky I was to get to know your mom, share her joy, benefit and delight in her humor! I'm certain that anyone whose life ever touched hers is a better person for that experience. I pray that your many happy memories of your mom will comfort you in the days ahead. I know that you will always keep her safely in your heart. God bless you all.

At a time like this it is hard to find the right words to comfort you all. Just know that the memory of Tubby's smile and laughter will warm your hearts and dry your tears when least expected. At that time, she will be closer than ever.
May God hold you even closer in your time of mourning.
