Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Colson was my choir teacher at the Lovett School during my grade school years (late 60's). I was just remembering her when I received notice of her passing. She taught so many of us. My condolences to her family and friends upon their loss.

Betty Colson was one of those rare and beautiful souls who epitomized grace and determination. I had the pleasure of being a part of her Studio for a few years and she always made me strive vocally beyond my limited talent. We have lost a true teacher and lovely human being.

Mrs. Colson was always nicer to me than most Teachers at Lovett. She took an interest in me and gave me the opportunity to be in the choir and to enjoy singing. At her last concert at Lovett, she typed up a message for me and I have kept it all these years. I don't know the exact year but I'm guessing around 1974 or 75. It reads" Since tonight's concert is the last major musical event in which I will be participating at Lovett, it would be most gratifying to me for you to be in the audience...

Mrs. Colson was a brilliant teacher, a mentor and a friend. I am indebted to her for setting me on a path of musical success. She believed in me and encouraged me and I will miss her dearly. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to The Opera Guild for Atlanta www.operaguildatl.org

Mr. and Mrs. Colson are a very happy memory for me from Lovett. Thoughts and prayers to all of her family and friends. My sister, Elizabeth, and I send love to Mr. Colson

I am so sorry to hear this. Mrs. Colson was absolutely one of my favorite Lovett teachers. I will always cherish memories of singing in the choir she and Mr. Colson led. My heart goes out to Mr. Colson, Helen and the family. Know that Mrs. Colson will always have a very special place in my heart. I feel so grateful to her for all that I learned and still use whenever I sing.

Sorry for your loss may you find comfort from God Psalms 29:11

An extraordinary performing, teaching and conducting talent and a great lady. While I have not been under her tutelage for 40 years (at Lovett School), I have always remembered her with the greatest respect, affection and appreciation.

I wish Peace to her and her family.
