GATES, Elizabeth J. (Bette) - Of Davison, age 82, died Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Brian's House Hospice of Davison. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Tim Sutton officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Brian's House of Davison. Visitation 1-4PM and 6-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Elizabeth was born in Bad Axe, Michigan on February 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Peter and Henrietta (Kapler) Campbell. On December 29, 1944 she married John D. (Jack) Gates and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2002. Surviving are children, John and wife Linda Gates of Holt, MI, Jim Gates of Lebanon, IN, Carol and husband Bill Jansen of Newport News, VA, Wendy and husband Hank Mozingo of Davison, MI; 10 grandchildren, Kim and husband Mark Coscarella, Shannon and husband Ed Langton, John A. Gates, Kristi and husband Dave Grubb, Beth, Sara and Katie Gates, Kirk Smith, Dominic and wife Nicki Mozingo, Monique and husband Brady Henderson; 11 great-grandchildren, Elaina and Justin Coscarella, Jack and Eddie Langton, Gillian and Molly Grubb, Ethan and Collin Henderson, Kyla, Zane and Caden Mozingo; sisters, Colleen Argo and Geraldine Bond; sisters-in-law, Toni and husband Jim Zessin, Donna Gates; several nieces, nephews and friends.
