Not sure what to say?

Mrs gerko was my favorite teacher she taught 6th grade at southern middle school and I loved her my dad was killed in the middle of the school year of 1994 and was so traumatized I would run out of class crying. Mrs gerko followed me every time and consoled me. I be love you ms gerko. Rose Mercury Lee ( Corinna Fugate)

To Betty's family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Betty was a wonderful, caring person, who also had some spunk! Nothing was ever pulled over Betty. It was a joy and great experience teaching with her. Linda Getz Jefferies

I knew her as Miss Gerko, the 6th grade science teacher. She kept the classroom lively yet under control with a quirky sense of humor and demeanor fitting to that quirky middle-school age of life. She was a blessing, and she will be missed.

Betty was a great client of ours. We always enjoyed her humor and her ability to laugh even when her vehicle had another flat tire. We will miss her. Our thoughts are with her family.

Miss Gerko was one of my favorite teachers! I will never forget when she came to Harrisburg to support my friend and I in the spelling bee, and all the years after when I got to say hi as she served me a gyro! You are in my prayers.

My deepest condolences, to your family. I, too will always remember her as one of my best teachers in school.

I will always remember Miss Gerko fondly as my 5th grade teacher. I am in my 40s now and I can still remember her friendly smile. Please accept my prayers.

Even though she was a family friend for nearly 30 years, I could never call her "Betty" it was always "Miss Gerko" as I referred to her in 5th grade. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor and I will miss her.
