I loved Byrd. She was a compassionate professor and was a key member of my thesis committee at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her words and books are a gift. A beautiful woman.

Byrd was absolutely my favorite professor. I took everything she taught at UALR. I always hoped to be like her, and one day to get to talk to her again. Much love to the family.

I am so sorry to see the notice of Byrd's passing. She was one of my professors at UNO in the early 1980s. Her easy disposition made her approachable for her students. She was indeed a sweet lady.
