Not sure what to say?

It was with sadness that I learned of Betty's passing from reading about it in the Dispatch. I am a social worker and worked many years ago at Whetstone Care Center and met Betty through her mother who was a resident at Whetstone. I enjoyed talking with Betty and I saw her several years later at various times when I was visiting the Zoo with my children. Betty was always ready to share a good tip that she knew of and always happy to talk about our wonderful Zoo. I send my sincere sympathy.

I am saddened to learn about Betty's death, I knew her from my days at the brokerage firm altho I am lawyer back in private practice now. She had such a great spirit and wild streak and really cared about animals particularly birds, I will never forget when visiting her to take her to lunch, she showed me the chair where she sits to watch tv and the "drop cloth" in place so the birds could sit on her shoulder and watch too, the other memorable event, was when she shared with me her...

Betty & Ann Marie visiting her flamingo flock--April, 2005

Betty befriended me (I am a docent at the Philadelphia Zoo) and my husband Tom over a decade ago; I am posting a 2005 photo of us visiting her beloved flamingos at the Columbus Zoo. I hope that she is with Herbie and others she has lost over the years. Despite her physical challenges, Betty was always upbeat and encouraging, giving of herself to so many. We love and miss you, Betty.
If one of her beloved pet birds needs a home, I am offering to give it a home in her honor. Please...

Elizabeth will be greatly missed. She was always a delight even when she was not feeling well. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

The first one to meet and greet me when contemplating a purchase at Brighton Woods Condos. A special friend and neighbor who will be missed by so many people and all the animals she loved and befriended.

My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Betty was a very caring and generous individual. I will miss our friendship. I can only hope that Herbie was there to greet her when she arrived at the pearly gates.

Farewell, good buddy and friend with lupus. May you rest in peace forever with no more aches or pains. Thank you for all your encouragement through the years. I will really miss you...

Betty was a good friend to my mom, Sandy. She frequently visited my sister and I when we were younger and my mom was in the hospital. She always brought us cases of Pepsi- which was our favorite. I am very sorry for your loss. We will miss seeing her at the zoo with the penguins.

Betty was a wonderful friend of my mother, Catherine Birhanzl Reinhart. She was a caring, loving and generous person to my mom, dad and our entire family. Betty and mom meet at the Columbus Zoo. From that day forward they talked on the telephone every night. I know they are both up in heaven talking about the animals. . . .Herbie, Patches and many more.
