Not sure what to say?

My son had Mrs. Helms as a second grade teacher and I had the honor of working with her as a teacher aide at Nims School. She was a wonderful teacher and person and the world has lost a great woman. My condolences to her family.

Mrs. Helms was also "my favorite teacher" at Nims School. She cared about her students well-being as well as their academics. Mrs. Helms made "house calls" when a student was ill, sharing her concern for their health and making sure they were on top on their school work. There was never a teacher who could top Mrs. Helms. Sending heartfelt sympathy to her family. Patty Olsen Nobes

So sorry to hear this. Cherish the good memories.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was my 2nd grade teacher at Nims and my favorite teacher. I have thought of her many times over the years. Sounds like she had a long wonderful life.

Mrs. Helms was my favorite teacher. Nims School grade 2, 1959. I learned cursive writing from her and to this day I get compliments on my handwriting. I have been asked to address wedding invitations as well as seating place cards. I was able to visit with her often as she lived next door to one of my uncles. I had good teachers through the years but she is the one I will remember always.

Mrs. Helms was a huge part of our daughter's life when she was double promoted into 2nd grade from Kindergarten. Mrs. Helms was the best part of that transition, and we will always be grateful for her skill and compassion. Our condolences to her family.

Mrs. Helms was one of my all time favorite teachers. She made each of us feel loved and respected. (I had her in 1962-63.) I will never forget her.

Mrs. Helms was my second grade teacher at Nim's School in 1960-61. I have the fondest memories of her and the second grade. I remember that President Kennedy was elected when I was in her class and she made sure that we all had an interest in the 1960 election. I'm glad to see that she lived such a long and rewarding life. She will always be remembered with reverence. Mike Zagaroli
