Elizabeth Mae "Boo" Brown Jordan Elizabeth Mae "Boo" Brown Jordan, 81, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 16, 1931, and was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Mae Brown Washington; stepfather, Alexander Washington; her brother, John Alexander Washington; and her beloved pet companion, Sandy. Elizabeth attended Jefferson School and retired from University of Virginia Medical Center after 42 years of service. She worked in many departments including Neurology, Psychiatry and Newborn Nursery over the years. Later she worked at Sam's Club. As a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church she was an Usher and Sunday school worker. She volunteered at the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation department, enjoyed traveling, fishing and cooking. Survived by her daughter, Ida Brown Johnson and husband, Lenwood Sr., of Fishersville, Virginia; grandsons, Lenwood Allen Johnson Jr., his wife, Christal, and their daughter, Sydney of Manassas, Virginia, Jerry Allen Johnson and his daughter, Viktoria, of Charlottesville, Virginia; sisters, Ada B. Harris and husband, Herbert, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Ann W. Jenkins of Columbia, South Carolina; a cousin, Virginia Brown Gales of New Carrollton, Maryland; and a host of family, loved ones and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Chesler, Dr. John Ligush, Jr., Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center and their staffs and The Hospice of the Piedmont. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 113 6th Street N.W. Charlottesville, officiated by Pastor Lehman D. Bates II. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 until 1 p.m. at the church. The family will hold a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The University Health Systems-Diabetes Education Program-415 Ray C. Hunt Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Arrangements are being handled by McClenny Funeral Service.

I remember growing up on Hartman's as a young child, Ms. Boo always walking with me to the bus stop and having our morning conversations.. She was one of the nicest person I knew.. Sorry for your loss, she will be greatly missed..
