Love you Mom!
I loved the story Dad relayed Mon with the family and Fr. Joe about Mom's endless battle with the various "pests" and "foes" of her gardening.
It was Mom against the deer.... Mom against the squirrels.... Mom against the rabbits.... Mom against the beetles... Mom against the birds. And how Dad so eloquently put it, ".... And she LOST all of those battles..." because she would never use an insecticide or pesticide. Nothing tastes as good as Mom's fresh garden vegetables!!
