Elizabeth Rose "Lee" LaForge

Seeing this notice of Mrs. Maynard LaForge brings back memories that my father told me about, so I know the name well.

My father, Al Wagner, was a partner in an airplane, an Aeronca K, with Maynard about 70 yrs ago. I think Maynard had the pilot's license; my father did not. It was kept at Butler Airport. They were on their way to the airport to fly on the Sunday afternoon of Dec 7, 1941 when they heard the news of Pearl Harbor. That might have been the last time they flew....
