Graveside services for Elizabeth Johnson Leaphart, 90, of Cayce, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Phillips. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at 802 Moss Creek Drive, Cayce, SC 29033. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brookland United Methodist Church, 541 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.
Mrs. Leaphart, widow of Ezell “Bill” Leaphart, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. She was the daughter of the late, Gordon Myer and Gussie Gay Johnson. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Brookland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Leaphart was self-employed as a Cosmetologist, she retired after many years of service.
Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael McQuillin of Cayce, Kathryn Leaphart of Gilbert; three grandchildren, Chris A. Gates, Dana B. Price, Frances B. Cornwell; five great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Berry of Saluda; brother, Herbert “Buddy” Johnson of West Columbia. Mrs. Leaphart was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
