Not sure what to say?

Liz Lucas was a wonderful human being and teacher. Perhaps my greatest memory was when we joined classes (Ms. Dawson and Ms. Lucas) to watch the first moon landing. Over the years I would see these two ladies around town (at the Baranof Cafe or at Valley Restaurant). We would always chat briefly and she NEVER forgot anyone in the family. She would always ask about them by name... My three sisters also were in their classes at Glacier Valley Elementary School back in the 1960s. Liz was what is...

Rest In Peace Liz. Sending lots of love to Louise, both you and Liz always where so special to me. You both always made me feel like I was special to you, I really loved that.

My condolences to the family . May you find comfort in your treasured memories and Gods promise to return our loved ones . 1st Thessalonians 4 : 13&14.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Liz was a classy lady & an excellent educator...my sympathies to Louise.

Liz (and Louise, of course!) were great friends of my Aunts, Rosie and Avis, so I've known them since I was growing up in Seattle. I have a hard time separating Liz from Louise since they did everything together, and every story of their adventures we heard from Rosie and Avis, included Liz and Louise. I visited Juneau on many occasions, and more often than not, Liz and Louise hosted us at their home on Fritz Cove for lovely dinners, eagle spotting, and probably a rousing game of cards....

My first memories of Liz were while she was Statewide President of Alaska AARP. Her dedication to retired teachers expanded to include all seniors. She was enthusiastic, focused and full of energy for the causes she believed in. She inspired others, including me, to get involved. Her dedication to AARP Alaska benefited seniors across the state! What an amazing role model. She was the definition of a giving, caring person. When I think of Liz I think she represented the kind of people we want...

I waited tables at Fernando's in the middle '80's. There I met "Liz & Louise", newly retired teachers, who held court each weekday, dedicated booth, for lunch. Each day they hosted a different (lucky) guest! These ladies knew how to live - clearly! They were beloved by their community - and all us waiters!!! They warmly welcomed new fans to their entourage of admirers. In the many years to follow, I treasured my "Liz & Louise" encounters around town, watching Liz in recent years become...

For most of my life, thanks to their long friendship with my Grandma Rose, there was Liz and Louise - always said just like that - oh I ran into Liz and Louise....hey there's Liz and Louise, I am sorry I'll be out of town and miss her services. Many hugs to you Louise!
