Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Elizabeth "LIZ" Anne Moniz of New London passed away early Tuesday morning November 18, 2014 with family by her side after a long illness.

She was born in Fort Benning, Georgia; she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Anne (Duch) Jackson, sister of the late Robert Jackson and wife of the late Joseph John Moniz, Jr.

Liz was a loving and devoted mother who gave up her profession as a hairdresser/stylist to be a homemaker raising four sons, eventually working part time at numerous convenience stores and the New London News company to keep busy when she wasn't working in her garden.

She is survived by her four sons and spouses, Joseph John Moniz III and Stacey Moniz-Parker of Gales Ferry, Walter and Tracy Moniz of Coronado, C.A., Jonathan Moniz of New Britain and Wayne Moniz of New London; five grandchildren, David and Rachel Moniz of Gales Ferry, Kindra, Caylin, and Shayla Moniz of Jacksonville F.L.; along with her devoted and loving boyfriend of ten years Dan Richards of New London.

There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends at the Polish American Veterans Club Post 1 in New London at 4 p.m. on Saturday November 22, 2014. The Address is 51 Central Ave, New London CT 06320.
