Beth and I met when she was a graduate student in biochemistry at the University of New Hampshire and I have been thankful to her ever since. She soon introduced me to Carolyn, a fellow grad. student, who became my best friend and wife. I thought at the time of our meeting, and continue to believe, that these two women were the most intelligent and focused people that I knew. Bright, creative, funny and independent.
