Elizabeth Peters Obituary
Born September 11, 1926 in Barkeyville, PA, the daughter of Daniel C. and Carrie Mae (Hoffman) Hedglin.
She was a Homemaker, had obtained her LPN license and had also worked at the Clearfield County Courthouse in the Controller Office and Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Elizabeth was a member of the Clearfield Alliance Church where she participated in the "Joy of Living" Bible Study. She was also a member of the Patriots of America and the Clearfield Moose, having held several offices including Senior Regent.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children; Charles E. Peters, Jr., and his wife Bonnie of Clearfield, Daniel E. Peters and his wife Sue of Hubbard, OH, Linda M. Pilch and her husband Joseph Jr. of Brockway and Rita E. Hemphill and her husband George of St. Cloud, FL, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Elmer Peters whom she married September 20, 1941 at the Church of God, Barkeyville, PA and who passed away May 12, 2015, two children; Debbie Sue Gill and Larry Joe Peters, an infant brother, Daniel Hedglin, a brother, Herbert W. Hedglin, Sr., four grandchildren; Merle "Scott" Peters, Vance Eric Peters, Dustin Kyle Peters, and Kathy Jo Peters, one great grandchild, Daniel Paul Peters and a great-great grandson Hunter Vance Houston.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of services.
