It´s been 10 years and I still haven´t processed the deep grief and sadness I feel about my mom mom Rex´s passing. She wasn´t my biological mother, but she was the mother the lord gave me. I was a foster child of Betty. My name is Carey and I miss her very much. I loved my mother's kindness and also her good advice.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Betty, but she took care of both of our children before they were adopted into our family. I have lovingly prepared notes that she passed on to us about each of their needs and personalities, and she even sent a truck for our son when our daughter came home to us. I met Betty and Tom 22 years ago as a young worker at CYS. What amazing people! Years later after Tom had passed I remember Betty sitting me down on her couch and showing me photo albums of every child that had ever come through her door.
