Read MoreJust like Michael Hecht, I knew Liz as the head of the prevention division at the national Institute of drug abuse, when I was a grantee for developing and evaluating the strengthening families program. She was always very friendly and supportive of developing family relationship programs to help children avoid drug abuse. Since she was younger than me, I am surprised by her passing. She will be missed.

I met Liz when she headed NIDA's Prevention Branch. She assembled the most amazing team and led them with her inspirational and supportive style. Liz was a role model for how to be a true scientist with values that reflect her great relationship skills. I also learned through the SPR conferences that she knew how to have fun! She is missed!!
